Naturekidz - Wild about the Woods - Wild about Play

In an age where children, young people and adults often have few opportunities to experience the outdoors, Naturekidz has developed an innovative approach to forest school, designed to bring families and young people together in natural play in safe, nurturing, outdoor spaces.

Naturekidz encourages families and young people to utilise their local community woodlands and open spaces and engage in positive, hands-on, learning experiences through imaginative interactive play and practical forest school activities.

Qualified forest school leaders can deliver an inspiring curriculum of outdoor activities designed to enhance self esteem, build confidence and help families and young people gain a deeper understanding of the natural world and their impact upon the environment.

Practical activities such as den building, campfire cookery and green woodworking encourage individuals to initiate learning for themselves and develop skills.

Creative and imaginative activities such as willow sculpture, earth pigment painting and storytelling encourage individuals to experience a more cultural, social and artistic life.

Recent funding from The National Lottery has provided an incredible heritage role-play resource kit.
This includes themed costumes and accessories (from Celts to Wizards), encouraging families to participate in interactive role-play and storytelling, bringing myths and legends to life! Also provided are a range of children’s Celtic-style, hand-crafted, safe latex swords, shields and longbows, enabling groups of children to participate in strategic outdoor games.
